“Leyni has come into this season with an excellent attitude and is constantly encouraging the other girls on the team. Not only does she work hard outside of practice on her game, but also puts in effort to listen and learn during practices.”

Hi, my name is Leyni! I am  a senior at Prospect Ridge Academy.

Setting goals, and crushing them is a crucial part of my life, both inside and outside of sports. In my freshman year, I made the varsity golf team and qualified individually for the state tournament. In my sophomore year, I took 4th place in the state regional qualifier, helped my team win second place in the state championship, and broke 80 for the first time. Junior year I continued to drop my scoring average and helped my team win 1st in regionals  & 4th in state. I am entering my senior  season with the goal of being a leader on my team, playing with the top competitors in the state, and finishing in the top of every tournament. Looking ahead to college, I am excited to have committed to continue my academic and athletic journey at Black Hills State  University in South Dakota. I am looking forward to  getting a great education, having meaningful experiences, making lifelong friends, and continuing to grow and compete.

Comments: First tournament of 2023. I was disappointed with my final score – but it was enough to help my team take 1st place in the tournament.  My putting cost me several strokes – so now I know where to focus and try to improve.
